Why do I see a multiple user identities error?

When I try to access library resources, I see the following error:

Message: AADSTS16000: Either multiple user identities are available for the current request or selected account is not supported for the scenario.


Answer

This error is a caused by having two Microsoft accounts active at the same time (your CItyU account being one). When this occurs, our authentication system does not know which one to use and throws this error.

To resolve this issue, logout of all Microsoft accounts. You can try to force logout using this link: https://login.microsoftonline.com/logout.srf.

Since browsers usually store credentials, you may need to restart your browser and/or clear all cookies from your browser cache.

After doing the above, try to access again, using your CityU credentials when prompted.
